1960-1994 A documentary film released in 2010 directed by Asif Kapadia. This film won two BAFTA'S for best documentary and best editing both in 2012. The story follows Ayrton Senna and how he won three Formula One world championships for McLaren in 1988, 1990 and 1991. The way the way the documentary was ordered and edited together using only clips for the actual races or interviews allows the audience to feel more empathy with Ayrton and his audience at the time. The various home videos used are effective in showing other elements of Senna life not to do with racing so that an audience can feel personally attached to Ayrton. These home films feature his girlfriend how we only see 2 throughout the whole film. Women are hardly seen in the documentary with only interviewers and his girlfriend are present.
